![]() There are so many things the ranch could do to make it more an "experience" that people are looking for today, especially for families. ![]() It was disappointing the "game room" was old with hardly anything in it, there were no organized camp fires, things like smores, sign up to play bingo at X time, square dancing lessons, learn horseshoes, etc. The only activities you can do are horse back riding and do-it-yourself fly fishing and the chuck wagon dinner. In signing up for a dude ranch, and having friends that went to other ones in Montana and Wyoming, the whole point is to have an experience, meet people, do activities, etc. My other big complaint about this ranch is lack of activities. The bugs were horrible all day and night (which they claimed was unusual), so it was hard to find reprieve in the cabins when it was hot, and they are old and felt a little dingy. Our shower filled with water when you showered and there was dust bunnies, old underwear, etc all under our beds. There's no AC (and it was in the 90s when we were there), and the bathrooms are old and a little gross. The cabins are extremely old and run down. While the people were great, food was good and the scenery was gorgeous, we probably wouldn't stay again. Horse back riding is definitely the main focus here and pretty much the only thing to do on the ranch, besides some fly fishing, but there are no fly fishing guides, just someone who will give you the basics and then you go out on your own. The ranch has 70 horses and a great staff of wranglers. You don't go hungry! The chuck wagon dinners were really tasty too and had fun entertainment. While it is hearty comfort food, it was really good, made-to-order and all the servers were friendly and quick. The ranch recently turned over in the past two years to new owners - everyone was very nice and accommodating. The people and staff were extremely friendly and nice. The two & four rides take you to lovely mountain lakes, and the sunset ride should not be missed! So if you’re looking for a real dude ranch with amazing views, wonderful staff who make you feel at home, great riding & mountain trails, yummy food, and a relaxing experience, this is your place!… The horses were well trained & solid and the trail rides through the mountains were just beautiful. You will definitely not go hungry at this ranch! Last but not least, Keith, who fetched me to & fro the airport and who was fun & friendly and made the trip go by fast. And the girls doing the wonderful cooking & very attentive serving of that great cooking, Abby & Gabby, were amazing. The wranglers were all great, but I have to give special thanks to Bryson & Becca, the guides on my daily rides, for making sure everybody was comfortable, safe and having fun. Terri, the manager who oversees everything at the ranch, couldn’t have been more friendly, helpful, & accommodating. But it’s the friendly & nice staff that make you feel at home who really make this place different. The cabin I stayed in, which was right next to the creek, was rustic & cozy with a great little porch that was perfect for relaxing or reading. The landscape & views of the mountains are gorgeous, and the sight & sound of Grayling Creek running through the ranch is just serene. I spent a week there and found it so comfortable and relaxing I didn’t want to leave. Wyndham Grand Cancun All Inclusive Resort & Villas.Hotels near Northwest College - Wyoming Powell, WY. ![]()
